AI Powered Localisation Tool in Figma

Figma plugin leveraging AI to automate localization of UX copy and content within design files, enabling teams to efficiently adapt interfaces for global markets while maintaining design integrity and consistency.

The challenge

Designers needed to duplicate designs on various languages.
Content makers needs to maintain documentations for different languages
Both developers and QAs needed to use the translations without knowing the context if duplicated designs were not available.
Off-the-self plugins have limitations on at which levels can detect and translate to multiple languages and data sharing challenges.

Solution

Establish an device Local Language Models (LLMs) for automated translation.
Created a Figma plugin connected with on device LLMs so no sharing of sensitive data
Plugin could create duplicate design frames on multiple languages without breaking up the UI.
A single source of location remain on figma localisation page so all statekholders have efficient localisation workflow

The tool now supports more than 5 languages for localisation keeping data integrity
